Are you often concerned with what other people think about you? Does your sense of self-worth come from the approval of others? Do you often see yourself seeking for attention? Or you can’t just simply say no to anyone? Bad news for you, being a people pleaser is not good for you!

The question is… Why do we think that we need to please other people? It’s simple, because there is this satisfying feeling of being liked, loved, and validated.

Let me be clear, pleasing other people and doing something out of LOVE is different. When you are generous and you do something out of love and compassion, you do things without expecting something in return. There is no ulterior motive -- just trying to spread the love <3 But when it comes to pleasing other people, you tend to obsess with other people’s reaction and judgement and all you wanna hear or get is a positive remark or opinion.

People pleasers are one of the unhappiest people in the world because their happiness is attached to feelings of others. Thinking and obsessing about how  other people think or feel about you is a total waste of time and energy! The first person you ought to please is yourself! NOT OTHERS :)

Remember, this is your life, no one should determine your worth, no one should dictate what you should do, know what you deserve, what other people think of you is none of your business. Stop pleasing other people. Do your own thing as long as you don’t step on other people. Earn their respect by showing them that you are not someone who can be molded or bent. Show them that you have your own principles and opinions; you are a logical human being!
